Jay currently serves as the state representative for Jefferson City in the Missouri General Assembly, where one capitol reporter noted he is one of few with “cajones and a brain.”As chairman of the House Committee on Government Oversight and Accountability, Jay has led several investigations into waste, fraud, and abuse, including the investigation into the failed Mamtek plant in Moberly, Missouri.
Jay currently serves as Chairman of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, which is charged with oversight of all new administrative regulations in Missouri. Jay has received awards from the Missouri Bar, St. Louis Business Journal, American Legion, Farm Bureau, and the Jefferson City NAACP for his work in the legislature.
